The teacup and saucer “Palaces of Scheherazade” are made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory from bone china porcelain with hand-painting. The author of the drawing is a wonderful artist Vorobyevsky A.V. The main character of the fairy-tale cycle “One Thousand and One Nights” Sheherazade had to tell the bloodthirsty king a new story every night to save the lives of herself and other women. Vorobyevsky depicted the palaces of this woman with incredible beauty and a sharp mind using a combination of bright overglaze colors, where some of the patterns are made in the gilding technique, which emphasizes the beauty of the details. The compositions are all complemented by the sizzling gold plating contrasted with vibrant specs of floral patterns and ancient Russia-architecture buildings with bold and amusing patterns in the colours of blue and sunshine yellow. This fabulous drawing in oriental style takes you to the palaces of Scheherazade, where an amazing woman will tell you a story while you drink your tea.
