This shape was first created at the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory at the beginning of the XIX century, for the Petergof Cottage Palace, built in Neo-Gothic style by the Scottish architect Adam Menelaws, as the private residence of Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, wife of Nicolas I. The artist Bogdanova decorated this famous shape with a magnificent flower bouquet of dahlias and roses, placed in rectangular rich golden frames. The gold filigree ornament is accentuated by painting with semiprecious agate paint. The color pattern composition perfectly harmonizes with the ancient shape of the set and makes the entire set majestically elegant.
