The Lomonosov factory Russia porcelain tea set “The Ark” is a hand-painted work with the design created by Tatyana Afanasyeva. The plot of the service is based on the biblical parable of Noah’s ark that became the refuge of the righteous during the Global Flood. The set reflects the essence of centuries-old traditions of the artistic culture of St.Petersburg, an allegorical embodiment of the symbol of hope and faith in the future. The original forms of the tea set “The Ark” are of navicular silhouettes looking like sailing in the endless flow of life, culture and history. The accurate architecture of cup-boats is highlighted by painting layering forming a delicate shape to be more constructive and ready to sail the symbolic seas and oceans. The peculiar shape was designed by the talented artist Tatyana Afanasyeva whose creativity was influenced by the creator of the first cup of Russian porcelain, Dmitry Vinogradov. The porcelain tea set “The Ark” represents the combination of history and modernity, reflecting the endless creative search for the artist and path from the past to the future. The set is for 6 people and contains 15 items.
